I don’t normally write reviews, but I was compelled to do so after receiving the U105 which is and Excellent product and Great Communication and response from the Seller and Facilitator, from delivery through to arrival of my chosen item which is the first purchase on this website.

I have had about five incidents in the last few years where this Umbrella would have come in handy. I have been attacked and thankfully with my martial arts skills, I was able to respond appropriately but within close range. Although the incidents were dealt with effectively.

It would have been great at those times would I have had the Umbrella by my side to assist me. Being trained in Martial Arts Understanding that the extra distance given to me by the Umbrella and the Assailant would have been even less effort, to apprehend. In a more controlled and gentlemanly manner. I must say that it is a very well made umbrella..I was just expecting a heavy steel shaft and cheap framework, but the frame has high quality steel ribs and framework(no cheap aluminum or weak metal parts).. All rivets are solid steel(not that hollow rivet crap like cheap umbrellas). The fabric even seems to be a smidge heavier and better quality than my “Gustbuster” brand…

I was expecting it to be heavier,,it is not a featherweight umbrella, but it is not quite as heavy as a wooden walking cane for instance… It has that quality heft feel to it, but it aint no baseball bat by far..it is not much heavier than any other quality wood umbrella and would probably be about the same as the fine wood one-piece stick umbrellas made by Brigg, James or Fox… I even wonder if the frame work might be a Fox, since I have read that some brands use them.

Anyway, the shaft is actually made of a solid fiberglass material,which has only a smidge of flex.. I guess I was expecting it to be a bit thicker, but it is only a smidge bigger than any other umbrella shaft and probably the same as most wood umbrellas,,Granted this is an unbreakable solid fiberglass one..

No wonder they don’t worry about it at airports…It really is just a strong umbrella and in no way looks like a clumsy fighting club as I had expected…In fact you could actually do similar initial damage to someone with the bulky,all metal cheap umbrellas, the only difference is that the cheap umbrella would fall apart after the first hit.. this thing would be ready for more… I can’t see how the Airlines would not have any issue with this anyway since your laptop probably weighs more and would hurt a lot worse than a wrapped up umbrella..

The cool thing is that this thing will never break in windy conditions and I even suspect the frame and ribs/fabric would hold up to the most extreme conditions I would ever walk in.

The tip has a nice steel end-cap so you could use it as a cane or put a mean jab-thrust to someone, that would be the best use I would think…As far as beating on someone with it,it would work in a pinch, but it aint no lead pipe_granted I guess if you swung the heavier handle end it would leave a good bruise.

If I didn’t choose this umbrella I would have chosen a one-piece wood shaft umbrella from Brigg,James or Fox.. I am happy with my choice.
